- Recycles vitamins C and E for ongoing antioxidant defense
- May improve skin elasticity and reduce hyperpigmentation
- Supports mitochondrial health and cellular energy production

Dr. Taylor's take
“Glutathione is the body's master antioxidant, and I consider it foundational for any longevity or detox protocol. Every cell depends on it, and repletion can meaningfully support NK cell activity. It pairs well with virtually any peptide protocol as a supportive foundation.”
Dr. Patrick Taylor, MD · Live Vital physician
About Glutathione.
Also known as: GSH, L-Glutathione, Gamma-Glutamylcysteinylglycine, Master Antioxidant
Glutathione (GSH) is a tripeptide built from three amino acids: glutamate, cysteine, and glycine. It is the most abundant antioxidant inside human cells, where it neutralizes reactive oxygen species, supports Phase II liver detoxification, recycles vitamins C and E, and helps immune cells function normally.
Glutathione levels decline with age, chronic illness, toxin exposure, and poor nutrition, which contributes to oxidative stress, weaker immune response, and visible signs of aging. Physician-prescribed glutathione, delivered by injection or liposomal oral form, is used to help restore depleted levels.
How it works
Glutathione acts as the primary thiol antioxidant inside cells, directly neutralizing free radicals and reactive oxygen species. It conjugates toxins through glutathione S-transferase enzymes during Phase II liver detoxification and regenerates oxidized vitamins C and E so they can keep working as antioxidants. It also helps maintain the redox balance immune cells need for lymphocyte proliferation and natural killer (NK) cell activity, and supports mitochondrial function tied to cellular energy production.
Who it may help.
- Those looking to support overall antioxidant and detox capacity
- Patients seeking added immune support
- Those interested in skin tone and elasticity support
- Patients with elevated oxidative stress from age, illness, or toxin exposure
- Patients already on a peptide protocol who want an antioxidant foundation alongside it
What to expect, when.
Many patients report early immune-related improvements within 2 to 4 weeks, with skin and oxidative stress benefits typically emerging around 8 to 12 weeks of consistent use. Sustained antioxidant support generally requires ongoing use. Individual timelines and results vary, and Dr. Taylor will help set expectations based on your history and goals.
Dosing is not one-size-fits-all. Dr. Taylor personalizes your dose and schedule after your medical intake, and adjusts it as your protocol progresses.
